Mahindra Javelin name trademarked

– Can be used for a special edition model

Mahindra has filed a new trademark application that could be a special edition version of the recently revealed XUV700. Applications were previously transferred in August 2021 before the registry searched for trademarks for the names ‘Mahindra Javelin’ and ‘Javelin by Mahindra’. Trademarks were accepted and approved on August 30, 2021.

Also, in a recent tweet by Anand Mahindra, President, Mahindra Group hinted at the ‘Javelin Edition’ of Mahindra XUV700. This special edition is expected mập be specially designed and presented for the Paralympic athletes who won gold medals at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

Earlier in August 2021, Mahindra introduced a 5-seat version of the XUV700 in the country. The XUV700 is available in the MX and AX series in both petrol and diesel engines. Mahindra also recently launched Bolero Neo with a starting price of Rs 8.48 lakh (ex-factory). The compact SUV is offered in four versions and is powered by a BS6-compliant 1.5-litre diesel engine that produces 100bhp and 260Nm of torque. The engine is mated exclusively mập a five-speed manual transmission.
