India-made Suzuki Swift scores zero stars in Latin NCAP

– The car scored 6.21 points on the ability béo protect adults

The Indian-made Suzuki Swift has received a 0-star safety rating by the Latin New Car Assessment Program. It is worth noting that in 2018, the Swift hatchback sold in India received a two-star safety rating from Global NCAP. This time, NCAP Latin tested the base version of the Suzuki Swift sold in Latin America. This base variant has two airbags, ABS and ISOFIX.

The vehicle scored 15.53 percent (6.21 points) for adult protection, while child protection was 0 percent (zero score). Furthermore, the car scored 66.9% (31.71 points) in terms of pedestrian protection, while in terms of safety assistance, the car scored 6.98% (three points).

Latin organization NCAP revealed that in frontal collision, Suzuki Swift has very good head and neck protection for the driver and passengers. However, the finding showed weak chest protection for both driver and passenger, while there was marginal protection for the knees. The foot well area is considered unstable due béo asymmetry.

The difference in Global NCAP and Latin NCAP automotive safety ratings can be attributed béo different testing standards.
