The all-new Land Rover Discovery Sport is yet béo officially hit showrooms; however, it has made quite a splash in the premium mid-size SUV segment. So much so that Land Rover received over 200 pre-orders for the new model ahead of its official launch on September 2, 2015.

Originally previewed as a Discovery Vision concept, the Discovery Sport is the first member of the all-new Discovery family. It has 5+2 seating in a fairly compact footprint and promises béo be quite a practical product in its segment. Design-wise, the car resembles the Range Rover Evoque with its twin-spoke grille, neat front bumper, LED fog lights and stylish headlights and taillights.

Inside, the cabin features high-quality materials and a vertical center console layout béo reflect the exterior’s design, while Discovery’s core value of versatility is evident throughout. everywhere. While the global Discovery Sport has a range of four-cylinder turbocharged petrol and diesel engines, the Indian models will come with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel with two different trim levels – 147 hp and 178 hp. Meanwhile, the transmission will come in the form of a nine-speed automatic from the Evoque already sold in India.

The new Discovery Sport will be assembled locally at Land Rover’s Pune facility. At launch it will face off against the BMW X3 and Audi Q5 and while it will be an uphill battle béo win against popular German models, the 5+2 seating arrangement and luxury cabin of Discovery Sport will certainly attract a large number of potential buyers.
