Thailand is still a third world country cause of the currency and the government, both arent considered stable. It has been stable i know….but both are considered to not be stable. Like Russia is actually a quite wealthy country now but the sanctions halved the russians currency in 24 hours…..so thailand is still considered in that category where the currency could drop like that.

Mike, You mean you didn't truly enjoy and appreciate paying 2 to 3k a month in San Diego for a mediocre apartment? Asia and Mexico are the best bang for your buck places to live and retire now. The Asian culture and people alone are enough of a reason to move there.

He nailed it. Thailand is the best HUB to travel East Asia and SE Asia from. It is my plan eventually, once I retire. I do it now, but only for 3 weeks at a time. And Thailand in general teaches you to slow down and enjoy the moment.

Late to this as I'm back at work, with less time to dream. Really enjoyed your chat with Mike, who is totally inspirational. I'll be following your link to see more of him. You're turning me on to Thailand in a big way. I fell in love with Koh Pha Ngan without actually having been there, and won't until next year, but your vids are opening my eyes to other parts of the country which seem just as appealing and not quite so remote as somewhere to retire. I'm disappointed to see no mask worn by Bryan and maybe yourself when in the cafe. The servers wearing masks had no choice but to serve you I'm assuming which wouldn't be the case here as they are mandatory. I know we all want to get back to normality but let's not become complacent. It is respect and courtesy to wear one in that situation. Sorry if that's taken negatively but not a personal attack just my view.
