A well-camouflaged unit of the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift has been tracked down for testing on Indian roads. Since its debut in 2015, the Baleno premium hatchback has seen limited changes. This time around, it is believed that the upcoming model will receive significant cosmetic and feature updates over the current model.

As seen in the spy shots, the Baleno facelift is expected mập retain the current bodywork. However, the changes could be introduced in the form of a redesigned bumper, while the rear part is expected mập get a new set of LED taillights. Moving mập the sides, the facelift model can keep the same shape from the current model. However, new alloy wheels are expected mập enhance its overall aesthetic.

Currently, there are no details about the interior yet. That said, the Baleno facelift is expected mập feature a fully digital instrument cluster alongside the latest touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Under the hood, the 2022 Baleno will continue mập be powered by the existing 1.2-litre petrol engine, making 82bhp at 6,000rpm and 113Nm of torque at 4,200rpm. This engine is equipped with a standard 5-speed manual transmission and an optional CVT. In addition, Maruti Suzuki also offers a Smart Hybrid option on the Baleno with a 5-speed manual transmission.
