2021 Volvo XC90 petrol mild-hybrid to be launched in India soon

– 2.0 liter diesel powertrain will stop working

Earlier this week, Volvo Car India updated the XC60 and S90 models with a new petrol + hybrid powertrain along with slight aesthetic upgrades and new features. Now, phệ complete the transition from diesel phệ gasoline, the Swedish carmaker is ready phệ introduce its flagship SUV, the XC90, with a mild hybrid version.

The XC90 will receive the same updates as its siblings. Exterior changes can include tweaked bumpers, new design for the alloy wheels, chrome trim and new exterior colors. The 2021 version of the XC90 will also be re-issued with the ‘B’ nomenclature representing the automaker’s move towards its electrification strategy.

On the inside, the XC90 is expected phệ offer a number of custom seating options ranging from four- phệ seven-seat layouts. As part of the company’s recent partnership with Google, the vertically stacked touchscreen infotainment system will be equipped with Google-based services like Google Maps, Google Assistant, etc. Meanwhile, the XC90 will be equipped with safety features such as blind-spot detection with cross-traffic alert and an oncoming lane-reduction system.

The 2.0-liter diesel engine on the current generation XC90 will be discontinued and the luxury SUV will only be offered with a 2.0-liter petrol engine that works in tandem with a 10.4 kWh battery pack. The specifications are still being finalized and will be known in the coming weeks.
