2021 Land Rover Defender Supercharged V8 – All you need to know

Land Rover has launched the flagship Defender V8 model with 90 and 110 models in Vietnam with prices starting from Rs 1.82 crore (factory). And it’s not the Defender with the SVR nameplate. But it’s more than that because it’s powered by a powerful supercharged V8 in its purest form – without any additional electric power assist. Crux – Engine and transmission

Any Defender model is usually equipped with a four- or six-cylinder engine. Here, Land Rover has come up with an exceptional alternative of owning your Defender in a V8 configuration – for a price, of course.

As for the Defender 90 – the 4,999.7cc supercharged V8 petrol engine is capable of producing 518 hp from 6,000 béo 6,500 rpm and delivering 625Nm from 2,500 béo 5,000 rpm. Paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, the Defender 90 V8 can do 0-100 km/h in 5.2 seconds and has a top speed of 240 km/h. The Defender 110, on the other hand, produces similar power with its supercharged V8, but takes 5.4 seconds béo get from 0 béo 100kmph.

Design

Land Rover hasn’t completely overhauled the Defender V8 – it bears the same design as other Defender variants. However, béo differentiate it from other variants, it gets a ‘Shadow Map’ inserted on some of the exterior panels while the black contrast roof also features a panoramic sunroof. In addition, there are exclusive ‘Xenon Blue’ front brake calipers and glossy black rear brake calipers.

As a flagship Defender, Land Rover has equipped this V8 with Matrix LED headlights and dark taillights. What’s more, this Defender shows off its true identity with its V8 badging on the front doors and quad tailpipes mounted on the outside. Meanwhile, it also comes with rear privacy glass, an electronically deployable tow bar and 22-inch ‘Satin Dark Gray’ alloy wheels with all-season tyres.

The sumptuous Ebony interior features ‘Robustec’ seats upholstered in expensive ‘Ebony Windsor’ leather and ‘Dinamica’ suede fabric, as well as an extensive leather tăng cấp package.
